Sojourn Church exists to glorify God by joining in His mission to give every man, woman, and child the repeated opportunity to see, hear, and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and become His disciple, without having to come or go anywhere.
Sunday Service – 10:30am
3967 Pershing Dr, Boise, ID 83705
Our Sunday service is focused on teaching God’s word (primarily through books of the Bible). The service usually lasts about an hour and 15 minutes, the music is contemporary, and the dress code is casual. Childcare and kids classes are available. We’d love to invite you to come a few minutes early so you can grab a cup of coffee and a snack.
Sojourn’s Vision is to make disciples of Jesus, transformed by God’s Spirit in relationships, that will represent Jesus to the world.
We believe our Vision will lead us to accomplish our Mission (stated at the top of the page). So what exactly does this look like? We do not think we can achieve our mission and vision by just attending a weekly service on Sunday, but by being invested in each other’s lives throughout the week and serving the neighborhood in which we live. We like to think of it as a Missional Community. We want to have the feel of being a family working together on God’s Mission. Within our community we also have smaller groups called DNA groups that are gender based and teach how to live more in the ways of Jesus.
We currently have three focus areas as a Missional Community serving Boise. We believe that God has placed us specifically in our neighborhood, so our focus areas are targeted towards the biggest needs around us. The first is involved with the homeless community in the heart of the downtown and leads a chapel each Sunday at 9am at Corpus Christi House, 525 S Americana Blvd, Boise, ID 83702. The second focus is on families and kids on the Bench and is often connected with serving schools, throwing parties, and BBQs. The third area we are launching in the fall of 2016 to focus on serving and connecting with the refugee population of Boise.
We have an unbelievably generous Father. The Bible says that every good and perfect gift comes from Him(James 1:17). God does not want or need our money to accomplish what He wants. Actually everything that we have is already His in the first place, we are simply managers of His resources. It’s when we begin to view our resources as stewards that we are really freed up to model the generosity of God. We are joining God’s mission of restoring people back to Himself and one of the ways we do this is with our financial resources.
